What is Keyword Density ? Keyword density relates to the number of times a specific keyword is mentioned in an article. For example if you have an joomla news item with 10 keyword occurrences out of 100 words, the keyword density would be 1%. A good approach for keyword density is to have between 3 to 5 percent keyword density in your news article. Some search engine's are happy to accept a higher ratio of keywords to content but if you plaster to many keywords across your content then the search engine may penalise you for spamming. So if possible try and keep with in the 3-5 % and basically write the news article for the user not the search engine. Also focus on your primary keywords which you wish to get ranked for and include the keyword in the title of your document.
